We are going to talk about how you can get more readers to discover your book. So, to get people to discover your book, you have to market your book.

I'm going to jump straight into the tips.
Tip 1. Be confident about your books: So, a lot of times you'll be in situations where you can just talk about your books and brag about them, but you don't, because you're not confident, or you just don't know how to talk about it, it feels awkward. But the first part of marketing a book is to let people know it exists. And how can you let people know it exists if you're not confident about it?
Tip 2. Take your business card everywhere: So, you can leave it everywhere. Community book stores will often have a bulletin board, and you can put your business card there and you'll be surprised how many people find it.
A book author actually got a TV interview by doing just that, the author went to a book store, just put a whole bunch of business cards on the cork board, and then a few weeks later someone emailed her asking if they could interview her on their local television show, which is awesome. So you never know when freak little incidents like that will happen just from putting your business card somewhere.
Tip 3. Donate you book to a local library: Believe it or not, a lot of people still go to the library for books, and if you donate you book to the local library that increases people being able to read it or just stumble upon it.
Some people just go to the library and browse the shelves to see what they can find. And who knows, they may find your book.
Tip 4. Post it online: This is what we call social media marketing. If you don't have a huge author platform, then just go ahead and post it on your own personal Facebook page and accounts and stuff like that.
Even if you don't have a huge following, it's good to just put that stuff out there so people know the book exists.
Tip 5. Write guest posts on blogs: So, if you struggle with your own blog, see if you can show up on other blogs where there's already an audience presence. So, you could either do a guest post by writing up some content about books, or you could do an interview where the person who has the blog interviews you and you just answer questions.
It allows the readers to learn more about you and your book.
Tip 6. Start a blog: You should know what a blog is. So this is all about creating your author platform, giving yourself something to grip onto in the Internet world.
Tip 7. Run a Kindle sale: So, this is good if you are part of the KDB Select program. When you are part of that program, you can run sales on your book, whether the book is for free or it's for something really cheap like 99 cents. When you do the sales, you end up in a different category on Kindle.
There are people that just comb through those categories, and they just buy books when they're on sale and they read them, or another big help is that when it is on sale, you can tell all your followers it's on sale. This lead to higher ranking on Amazon and you end up getting more sales.
So even if it is a free download, you can still benefit from it, because even though you aren't technically making money, you're getting more people to read your book, who will also review your book, and the more reviews you have on your book, the more Amazon is likely to recommend your book to other people.
Last but not the least.
Tip 8: Do a giveaway on social: Again, this is another thing that we're doing for free. We're giving it for free to one person, and basically the idea is that you want to create as much buzz with this one social media post as possible.
So, for example, if you have an Instagram account, you would want to have a picture of the book and you post the picture, and you say "Want to win a free copy of this book?" And hopefully you'll sign the copy, and you say "To enter, follow my Instagram and like this picture, and tag three people in the comments who would like to read this book."
So that is just a great way to get exposure, it's a great way to not only get a whole bunch of engagement on your social media account, but it's a great way to get other random, completely random people to discover your book.
So, that is the eight ways to get people to discover your book who had no idea that you exist. If you enjoyed this insight, or if you have additional tips on how to get people to discover your book, be sure to share them in the comment box below, because we all like to learn here.
