How To Create A Business Email Account

Business email is very important. It gives credibility to your business and shows that you are seriously in business. Most companies and business will ask you for your business email instead of the general email at someone else domain, like @gmail.com, @live.com, @yahoo.com, @excite.com, etc.

Today, I am going to show you how to create a business email account for your business activities.

First of all, you should have the following items in place or buy if not available.

  • Web hosting plan with cpanel  – You can get a shared web hosting plan
  • Domain name – preferable, dot com type – ( .com )

Steps on how to create business email account

Step 1

Open your cpanel by typing https://www.yourdomain.com/cpanel or https://cpanel.yourdomain.com

  • NB: (remember to change - yourdomain.com to your own domain name you bought.)

Step 2

Enter your username and password and click on login

This will take you to your cpanel and you should be seeing the Email section. If not seeing email section, scroll down to look for it. See photo below for detail.

Step 3

Click on the ‘Email Account’ option

This should open up the email account creation section as seen in the photo below:

Step 4

Now, click on the ‘Create’ button at the top right – (the position might be slightly different in your cpanel but the principle remain the same)

This will open a section for you to fill the business email details as shown below:

Step 5

  • Select the domain you want to use for the business email -  (1)
  • Enter the username – usually anything you feel comfortable with – info, sales, inquiries, support, customercare, etc – (2)
  • Under password – tick “Set Password Now” – (3)
  • Enter your password in the password box – (4) or
  • Use the password generator button to generate a secured password – (5)
  • Then click on the ‘Create’ button below to create the business email account – (6)

Voila! You have successfully created a business email account for your business.
